Vol. 1 No. 1 (2023): FinTech and Artificial Intelligence in Finance

FinTech and AI in Finance (FinTAF) conference was hosted by the Department of Finance Accounting and Business systems (FABS) which is part of the Business Technology and Engineering Faculty at Sheffield Hallam University. The aim of the conference is to explore current developments within the FinTech industry and assess the key issues faced. The role played by artificial intelligence within FinTech development and its effect on key stakeholders i.e. investors decisions, financial services and global markets. We are also keen to explore empirically and theoretically the legal and regulatory implications of the FinTech industry and how it interfaces with the banking industry, asset servicing, capital markets and investment management (e.g. wealth management etc.).

FinTAF will publish double blind peer-reviewed papers from the FinTech and AI in Finance Conference.

The Conference contributes to the following academic and professional practice themes:

  • Impact of CoVid on the rise and fall of FinTech
  • Cryptocurrency, Central Bank Digital currency, and Meme coins
  • Algorithmic Trading
  • Fintech and AI applications to Behavioural finance'
  • RegTech and likely future direction
  • Developments within Non-fungible tokens (NFT)

All articles published in FinTAF will be open access, using the Creative Commons Attribution licence. This will enable as wide a distribution as possible of the work, whilst allowing authors to retain copyright and so enable them to use their work as they wish.

Call for Papers: 2024 Annual Fintech and AI in Finance Conference

FinTech and AI in Finance (FinTAF) 2024 conference will be hosted virtually by the Department of Finance, Accounting and Business Systems at Sheffield Hallam University and University Academy 92 Business School. The aim of FinTAF is to explore current developments within the FinTech industry, assess the key issues faced and delve deeper into a sustainable transformation of the financial world. We wish to explore the role played by artificial intelligence within FinTech development and its effect on key stakeholders i.e. investors decisions, financial services and global markets. We are also keen to explore empirically and theoretically the legal and regulatory implications of the FinTech industry and how it interfaces with the banking industry, asset servicing, capital markets and investment management (e.g. wealth management etc.).

We invite researchers, scholars, and practitioners to submit their cutting-edge work for presentation at the 2024 Annual Fintech and AI in Finance Conference. This virtual event provides a platform for the exchange of innovative ideas and insights shaping the future of financial technology.

  • Robo-advisors and algorithmic trading

Keynote Speaker: This year we will have the pleasure to Welcome Professor Abderrahim Taamouti.

Abderrahim Taamouti is a Professor of Econometrics at the University of Liverpool.

He is equally the Director of LAMBDA (Liverpool Advanced Methods for Big Data Analytics) Research centre, Liverpool Management School

Submission Categories:

Discussion Papers: Present your novel concepts, ideas, or preliminary research findings for engaging discussions.

Full Papers: Share comprehensive research, empirical studies, or case analyses that contribute significantly to the fintech and AI in finance domain.

Submission Guidelines:

Discussion papers must be submitted by 31 July 2024.

Full papers must be submitted by 31st August 2024.

Submissions undergo a rigorous peer-review process.

Accepted papers will have the opportunity for publication in our conference proceedings and journal. All articles published in FinTAF will be open access, using the Creative Commons Attribution licence.
